Ship 20 Static Fire
Ship 20 Static Fire
A static fire test is a test in which the (first stage) engines are ignited ("fired") but the vehicle does not launch (it remains "static"). Hence, "static fire".
As you can see in the picture, engine chill is what you will mainly see, obviously many more things happen before a starship static fire (Or even launch) but the most notable is engine chill. This is when liquid oxygen acting as an oxidizer is pumped in to chill the engines.
